Yakima FullBack Trunk Mount 2 Bike Rack Review- Video
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have Yakima FullBack trunk mounted bike rack. So this is a rack that attaches to your hatch or to your trunk and allows you to carry two to three bikes and that way, you're ready to ride. Usually I don't go with trunk or hatch mounted bike racks because there's a lot more contact with the vehicle and it's a lot more of a hassle to get them mounted onto the vehicle compared to if you had a hitch mounted rack but sometimes you don't have those options. In this case, this is actually my car and I haven't had the time to get a hitch on there or a roof rack and I need to carry around two bikes. Of my limited options, the Yakima FullBack is probably gonna be the more premium and the safer trunk mounted rack. There are some features on it where it just limits the contact with the vehicle making for a more distributed way of carrying around your bikes. more

Thule Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2009 Subaru Forester- Video
What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we have a 2009 Subaru Forester, and we're going to be taking a look at the Thule outweigh. So as you can tell, this is a truck mounted bike rack, but it is a platform style. So this is going to be great for your carbon fiber frame bikes. We do have a little cushion that'll go around your frame and that's going to protect it a little bit more, but you can use it with your carbon fiber bikes and any other bike that you may have. Thule Gateway Pro 3 Trunk Mount Bike Rack Review- Video
Adam: "What is going on, everybody Adam here with e-trailer. Today, we are going to be going over a solution if you do not have a hitch or a bike rack on your roof, to be able to get your bikes to and from the destination.Luckily, this one is extremely compact, fits in your trunk, so it's easy to store, and this is going to be the Thule Gateway 3.First thing we want to do to get it expanded, is we are going to hold these levers on each side, we are going to push those in, and it's going to make this arm come up like this. I found the right setting, and we want to put it on our trunk just like this, and if you look closely, you can see we do have some numbers here. I'm going to use the seven. I found that to be the best fit for our inaudible 00:00:49 here.Just a quick tip for you, if you fancy your paint job, I highly recommend just wiping it down just so a lot of that dirt and stuff isn't being pushed down onto your paint to make marks. So we did that, and another thing we need to do is, you notice this pad here, it's nice and wavy on the round end, we want that to be down. more

Evangeline: Hi, it's Evangeline from etrailer.com and today we are looking at the Hollywood Racks Express Trunk Bike Rack here on our 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. So this is a great option, especially if maybe you don't have a hitch on your Jetta and you still want to carry around bike racks. This is also very quick and easy to use. So the way our bike is mounted to this bike rack here are by these straps, so when you do have your bike up there, you want to strap them down to these rubber straps and you can see how they hold them in place just like that. And we have one, two straps at the top. This also comes with this extra strap here that is attached to the bike rack, and this really helps hold the bike in and secure and prevent sway while you're on the road. more

This is a two-bike version, but we also have a three-bike version here at etrailer.com. The only difference is that the two-bike version can hold up to two bikes weighing 35 pounds each, but the three-bike version can hold three bikes but the total weight capacity is 90 Pounds.This is a great way to get our bikes to our favorite destination without installing something on our roof and having to load them up there, or maybe having a hitch installed and installing a bike rack. This is a great opportunity for people. A lot of people like to use this. Saris Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2014 Volkswagen Passat- Video
Hey everyone. Today, we have a 2014 Volkswagen Passat, and we're going to do a test fit of the Saris Bones EX 3 bike rack. Now this bike rack mounts to the trunk of your vehicle, it allows you to get three of your bikes transported to and from your destination.A benefit of having a trunk mounted rack is that you're not going to have to worry about investing in a hitch mounted rack and if you don't even have a hitch yet, then you have to invest in the hitch as well, or even a roof rack, plus a bike rack to be able to get your bike from point A to point B.With the bike, it's attached at three different points, we're going to have two straps on our top tube right here, securing it into the cradles and we're also going to have an anti-sway cradle securing the seat post too, just taking out a lot of the unnecessary movement. You see, it's still moving a little bit right there, but not near as much as it would without this strap. It's going to help prevent a lot of bike to vehicle contact and bike to bike contact.Now let's go ahead and take the bike off. It's going to be pretty easy to do. more

We have two zip strips on the top of our bike frame. Then we have a zip strip right here securing it into the anti-rattle cradle. It's very light, so it's gonna be very easy to install, but it's also gonna be durable and be able to support your bikes very well.If we look at the bike and how it's attached to the rack, excuse me, we're gonna see we have to ratchet straps on the top of our bike frame securing it into the cradles. We also have a third point with an anti-sway cradle and a strap. Once we secure that, that's gonna prevent our bike from swaying too much while we're traveling. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Subaru Outback we're going to be doing a test-fit on the Hollywood racks over the top two bike carrier. And that part number is HRF2. This bike rack is specifically designed for vehicles that have these spoilers at the top of their hatch so that it can prevent any type of damage from occurring.As you can see the connection points for straps from the bike rack to the top of the hatch isn't adding on any extra weight or pull onto the spoilers, which is going to help protect it from any type of damage. Seeing our bike installed right here we're going to see it secured at three different points of contact.We have two straps on the top of our frame and we have this anti-sway strap securing it into this cradle. Once that's secured, that's going to prevent the bike from swaying too much while we're traveling and prevent the bike from making contact with the rear of our vehicle or with the other bike we could have installed.Let's go ahead and remove it. I'm going to just remove these straps like that. more

Hollywood Racks Express Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2017 Hyundai Elantra- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Hyundai Elantra we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Rack's Express Three Bike Carrier, part number HRE3.Now this is a very economical bike rack and what I mean by that is that if you're just looking for a bike rack to get you from point A to point B with your bikes this is going to be great for you. However, if you're more of an avid cyclist, I would suggest maybe doing a little bit more research and trying to find a bike rack with a little bit more bells and whistles.Let's go into the bike rack itself, we see we have cradles that can pivot left and right, and that can also move up and down the rack to accommodate any spacing between bikes you might want. We have two different points of contact where our bike is secured. We have these nice rubber straps that are securing the top frame of our bike into the cradles. I do want to point out because we don't have any type of anti-sway or anti-rattle cradle in place, our bike can move freely when we're driving and with it sitting pretty close to the vehicle, so you do want to be aware that it could make contact like this pedal right here is pretty close to our license plate, and we also have our front wheel up here that's pretty close to making contact. However, to fix this problem you could purchase a wheel shock separately at etrailer.com and just secure the front wheel to that.Let's go ahead and remove the bike. more

As you can see, we have a bike in stow, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.Now on this arm, we're gonna have an integrated cable lock system, which comes like I said, out of this arm of the bike rack, back around the frame of the second bike you have installed, and inserts on that notch right there.You will get a set of keys for your cable lock, so you can insert your key in there, unlock your cable, and then you can unload your bike.On our other arm, we're gonna have a bottle opener, which Yakima likes to put on all their bike racks.We look at these cradles, we're gonna see they are stationary, but they do have this nice rubber TPE padding, which you can see these notches right there, that's gonna act as a shock absorber for the frame of your bike while your traveling. Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Mazda CX-5, we're going to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Over The Top Two Bike Carrier. And that's going to be part number HRF2.Now this bike rack is specifically designed for vehicles that have tails or spoilers like our Mazda does. If we look, we're going to see the connection points for our strap from the bike rack to the vehicle. It's not putting any extra weight on our spoiler which could potentially damage it.If we look at the bike itself, we're going to see it has three different points where it's secured. We have these straps on the top of our frame securing it into the cradles. We have this anti-rattle strap that is securing this part of the frame into there once we do that. more

That's gonna be part number HRE3.Now this is a very economical bike rack and what I mean by that is that if you're just looking for a rack to get you from point A to point B with your bikes, this is gonna be great for you. However, if you consider yourself more of an avid cyclist, you might wanna do some more research and maybe find one with more bells and whistles for you.So if we look at our cradles, we're gonna see that they are stationary, or they are not stationary, excuse me. So you can pivot them back and forth like so and you can also adjust them up and down your rack to accommodate any spacing between bikes you might want.We're gonna have two different points of contact on our bike. Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander we're gonna be doing a test fit of our Hollywood Racks over the top trunk mounted two bike rack. That's part number HRF2. As you can see, we have one bike loaded up already to show how bikes sit on the rack. We have two arms that are gonna support our bikes, and we have two cradles, one per arm. That's gonna give us two points of contact on our cross bar and one point of contact on our vertical bar here. That's gonna prevent the bikes from swaying, making contact with each other or our vehicle.To remove the bikes, we're going to pull off the soft rubber straps here that are going to prevent any sort of damage to our bike frame. more
